Medieval Burg Hochosterwitz

In east St. Veit, a 160-meter building towering over the valley is Burg Hochosterwitz, the most important medieval castle in Austria. The castle was first occupied by Khevenhullers and expanded in 1570 in the face of attack from Turkey. Castles are then still controlled by the family Khevenhuller.

We could see a chapel with the walls and ceiling were painted from 1570 and the church in the southwest of the castle with the high altar of 1729 so many of the tourists who come to visit the medieval burg place Hochosterwitz ..
